Ouvert (French for "open"), also known as OuvertBot, is a free song request system for rhythm game streamers. Viewers request songs from your song list in chat or on your Ouvert page, and you run the queue from your dashboard, your phone or your Stream Deck.
It started life as a replacement for JopeBot, a song request bot for Guitar Hero and Clone Hero streamers that was discontinued.

As a full-stack software engineer and sys-admin, I didn't want people to lose out when JopeBot ended. So I threw together a quick request site and bot for the few Clone Hero streamers I was watching at the time, then completely rewrote it so any streamer could use it.

The bot runs on our servers and joins your chat when you connect it from your dashboard. When a viewer requests a song, it goes straight into your queue.
The website, bot, overlays and apps are all linked by WebSockets, so a change in one place (a new request, a skipped song, requests closing) shows up everywhere straight away, without anyone refreshing. Only the pages that need an update get one, which keeps Ouvert fast and light on our servers.

Absolutely nothing! Ouvert runs on our own servers, and its core features are free and always will be.
In the future we may add donations, if you'd like to support us, and optional paid tiers that add extra features on top of what's free. You won't have to pay for anything that's free today.

Ouvert takes song requests from your chat and your Ouvert page and puts them in a queue you control. Along the way it gives you:
- A dashboard for your queue, settings and song lists, which updates live
- A public song list page where viewers can search your songs and request them
- A chat bot for Twitch and YouTube, with commands and replies you can change
- Priority requests, given by you and your moderators or automatically for Twitch raids, subs, Bits and channel points
- Stream overlays for OBS, including request alerts and text-to-speech
- Moderators, a mobile app, a Stream Deck plugin and a yearly Recap
The features page has the full list.

Not at the moment. The bot runs on our servers under Ouvert's own accounts, so you don't have to run anything on your PC. A custom name would mean running a separate bot for each name, so if we offer it in the future, it'll probably be a paid extra.

I'd love that! Right now Ouvert is English only, because English is the only language I speak. Translating the site and bot will need volunteers who know other languages, so if you'd like to help, let us know in the Discord.

Yes. The setup guide walks you through signing in, choosing your game, uploading your song list and connecting the bot. If you get stuck, ask us in the Discord.

The bot sometimes leaves channels, for example after an update or to keep server resources in check. Go to Bot > Status in your dashboard, check it's connected, and click Connect if it isn't. If it says it's connected but isn't responding, disconnect it and connect it again.
On YouTube, the bot joins your chat once your stream is live, so it can take a moment to appear after you go live.
Still not working? Give us a ping in the Discord and we'll sort it.

On Twitch, the quickest fix for both is to make the bot a moderator by typing /mod OuvertBot in your chat. If links show up as stars (***), you can also allow links in your Twitch chat settings instead.

There's nothing you need to download. The bot runs on our servers, so there's nothing to install, no antivirus exceptions and no extra load on your PC.
There are two optional extras if you'd like them: the Ouvert mobile app for Android and iOS, and the Ouvert Stream Deck plugin. Both connect to your account with the API keys in your dashboard.

- Twitch: sign in, the chat bot, and automatic priority requests for raids, subs, Bits and channel points
- YouTube: sign in, and the chat bot on your live streams
You can link Twitch and YouTube to the same Ouvert account, so one queue and song list works for both.

Clone Hero, YARG (Yet Another Rhythm Game), Rocksmith 2014, Guitar Hero TV (GHTV) Reloaded and ScoreSpy. Each game has its own song list: upload yours from the Games section of your dashboard, and switch between games whenever you like.

There are two ways:
- In chat: type !sr followed by the song's ID from your song list, for example !sr 136. Typing !list posts a link to your song list.
- On your Ouvert page: viewers sign in with Twitch or YouTube, search your song list and click Request.
Viewers don't need an Ouvert account to request in chat. You can change the commands in your dashboard.

Yes. Go to Bot > Commands & replies in your dashboard. You can change the words that trigger each command, and edit each reply with a preview of exactly how it'll look in chat. The Insert menu adds things like the song name or the requester's name. You'll be warned if two commands share the same trigger.

A priority request goes above the normal requests in your queue, and viewers can use one even when requests are closed. There are two ways to give them:
- You or your moderators can type !priority followed by a viewer's name and a weight from 1 to 10, for example !priority viewername 5.
- On Twitch, you can give them automatically for raids, subs, gift subs, resubs, Bits and channel points rewards. Set up your rules under Requests > Priority, for example "When a raid brings at least 10 viewers, give the raider priority 3".

The bot's reply usually says why. The most common reasons are:
- Requests are closed
- The song ID isn't on the streamer's song list
- The song is already in the queue
- You've reached the streamer's request limit, or the limit for a set amount of time
- The song is longer than the streamer allows
If the streamer has turned on "Let viewers swap their request", requesting again swaps your current request for the new one.

Open Overlays in your dashboard, pick an overlay and customise it. Then drag it straight into OBS, which adds it as a browser source at the right size, or copy its link into a new Browser Source. "Send a test to OBS" shows sample songs on every overlay you have open, so you can line them up without waiting for chat.
If you sign in with Twitch, overlay links use your Twitch ID, so they keep working if you change your Twitch name.

Text-to-speech has to be turned on first. You can use it on your queue dashboard or as an overlay in OBS, but only use one, or you'll hear everything twice. In OBS, check the overlay's audio isn't muted.
The voices come from the browser it runs in, so the voices you can choose from may be different in OBS and in your normal browser.

Go to Moderators in your dashboard and add them by their username. Once they sign in to Ouvert with that account, they'll see your channel under Moderating, where they can run your queue: play the next or a random song, hold or remove requests, and see your request history. They can also use moderator commands like !priority in your chat.

Yes. Open the menu under your name, choose Connected accounts and link the other platform. You can then sign in with either, and they share one queue, song list and set of settings. You can unlink an account on the same page, as long as you keep at least one you can sign in with.

Your API keys, under API in your dashboard, connect tools like the Ouvert mobile app and Stream Deck plugin to your account. Keep your private key secret, like a password: anyone who has it can control your queue. If you think someone else has it, let us know in the Discord.

Every year, Ouvert builds a Recap of your year in requests: your most requested songs and artists, your busiest month, your most loyal viewers, your Recap personality, how you compare with other Ouvert channels, and a card you can share. There's an Ouvert-wide Recap too. When it's ready, you'll see it on your dashboard.

As little as we can: your platform username, ID and profile picture, plus whatever you set up in Ouvert. We never ask for your email address or a password. If you request songs in chat, we store your platform username and your requests.
The Privacy Policy has the details, including how to delete your account.
